Customizable Printing Processes

UniversalPromo’s in-house team of print engineers creates custom, semi-automated processes resulting in clean, clear designs on your plastic products. There are two printing methods in which UniversalPromo specializes:  hot stamping and pad printing.

Hot stamping is a heat transfer printing process in which your design is imprinted upon a rubber or metal die. A ribbon of foil is placed between the heated die and the substrate of your product. When the die stamps the foil against your product’s substrate, the design transfers in the foil. What results is a crisp, bright and long-lasting impression. As one of the Midwest’s top distributors of quality foils and dies, UniversalPromo offers our customers a wide selection of foils in various colors and finishes.

Pad printing is an indirect offset printing process in which your design is transferred in ink from a silicone pad to the substrate of your product. Pad printing is the preferred process for transferring two-dimensional graphics onto three-dimensional surfaces. At UniversalPromo, we use Class VI Medical Grade Inks for our pad printing projects. Class VI Medical Grade Inks pass USP standards for safe use in a variety of applications, including medical implant devices. These inks are fast-drying and resist sterilization methods including both water and chemical.

Graphic Designs Balance Form and Function

An effective graphic design accomplishes an array of goals in the matter of a glance. Graphics help your product stand out from the competition. They provide clarity for product end users that builds brand trust and brand recognition for recurring buyers. UniversalPromo’s in-house graphic design team brings expert vision and specializes in designs that translate onto three-dimensional surfaces.

UniversalPromo’s in-house graphic design team can work with you to create new graphics, or prime your existing designs for transfer onto your product. Our graphic design team uses the latest programs including the full Adobe Suite and Corel Draw to develop designs including logos and labelling. In addition to developing custom graphics, we offer scanning, prepress and pre-production services.

If your project requires graphic design support, contact us early on in the process. We can ensure your designs are ready in time for printing, and your project’s timeline moves ahead on schedule!

Documentation for Compliance and Safety Standards

As the Midwest’s leading medical device print service provider, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of compliance and safety. Our customers depend on us to ensure their product’s effectiveness and safety is not compromised during the printing process. No matter the application of your plastic product, UniversalPromo takes several steps to preserve its integrity from start to finish.

UniversalPromo uses top-quality printing equipment and FDA-compliant inks and foils in our printing processes. We complete printing projects in a clean room environment. A clean room eliminates the risk of contamination through careful control of environmental conditions; equipment and personnel processes; and regular, thorough cleaning. These steps protect your product from contaminants and uphold compliance and safety standards for a number of regulatory agencies.

To demonstrate compliance and ensure replicable results, UniversalPromo offers customers documentation of every printing process. Upon request, we can provide you with material safety data sheets and compliance certificates for all inks.
